Day 1:
- Destination: Tarangire National Park; Karatu
- Accommodations: Bougainvillea Safari Lodge

- Transfer time: 3 hours from Arusha to Tarangire

- Your amazing wildlife safari kicks off today in Tanzania’s world-famous Northern Circuit filled with stunning encounters with wildlife and breathtaking natural scenery! At 7:00 am, your expert Naturalist Guide will take you from Arusha and drive 120 km to Tarangire National Park for a morning game drive. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and continue with the afternoon game view l Locate mammals such as lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, python, zebra, oryx, impala, and more. In the afternoon, you will leave the park and head for 120 km towards Karate, where you will check in to the lovely Bougainvillea Safari Lodge, a comfortable retreat after a day on the dirt roads. Settle your own cottage with its own fireplace and head to the dining room for a delicious dinner, perhaps, in the lounge, verandah or in your living room.
Day 2:
- Destination: Serengeti National Park
- Accommodations: Gnu Migration Camp
- Activities: Game Drive; (Optional) Oldupai Gorge Visit
- Transit time: Approx 3 hours to Ndutu
Today you will visit the great Serengeti National Park, the most famous game park in the world! After an early breakfast in Bougainvillea, drive 120km to the Ndutu area of Serengeti, where the Great Migration is in full swing in January. On your way to Serengeti, you may be able to stop by the Oldupai Gorge (often spelled Oldwai), commonly known as the “Cradle of Mankind”. The site has made some important archaeological discoveries in the world of leeches, including the discovery of several early hominids that are estimated to be 3.7 million years old. OldPay is a Masai word for the wild sisal (Sansevieria ehrenbergii), which grows in George. The park then proceeds to the entrance and before lunch, arrives at the Gnu Migration Camp, a tastefully appointed tent camp reminiscent of the first safaris of the early 20th century, equipped with African touches.
Day 3:
- Destination: Serengeti National Park
- Accommodations: Gnu Migration Camp
- Activities: Game Drive
- Transit time: leisurely game drive with stops around the park from morning until late afternoon
After breakfast, continue with morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park. Covering an area of 14,763 km2, the park is named after the Maasai word “endless plains”. Here you are guaranteed to get up close and personal with the “Big Five” (Lions, Elephants, Rhinoceros, Leopards and Cape Buffalo), if you have never before, and a host of other iconic and lesser known species. Given the vast terrain, climate patterns and migration patterns of innumerable species, many of Serengeti’s animals are constantly in motion. It makes for an adventurous game drive! Your drives depend on the movement of immigrants; Your expert naturalist guide knows how to identify herds. The GNU Migration Camp features Bush Lunch and Bush Dinner.
Day 4:
- Destination: Ngorongoro Crater; Arusha for connection or departure
- Activities: Game Drive; (Optional) Mto wa Mbu
- Cultural Village Tour
- Transit Time: 2.5 hours to Crater gate; 1 hour Crater decent; 1 hour ascent; 3.5 hours to Arusha.
Today is an exciting day as you arrive at the world famous Ngorongoro crater! When you wake up in the morning and leave Serengeti at 5:30 pm, drive 90 km and arrive at Ngorongoro Crater Gate at 7:00 pm. After checking in, head down to the Crater floor for a half-day tour, including picnic lunch by hippo pools.
In the afternoon, climb to the edge of the crater once again and continue to Arusha with an optional stop at the Mto Wa Mbu Cultural Village to get some insight into local cultures. Arriving in Arusha, you will be connected to your next destination or international departure. Kwaheri!
